Intake Services for Self-Represented Litigants
Our intake services are designed to help you stay organized and move your legal matter forward while representing yourself.
For a fee of $299 per intake, we will help you get started by organizing your matter and identifying the information, important dates and documentation relevant to your case.
Once you submit this form, a representative from our law office will contact you using the information you provide to begin the intake process.
As part of our service, you will receive:
1. An online client portal to help you keep your matter organized.
2. A personalized document checklist outlining the records and materials you may need for your case.
3. Important dates and deadlines to track in connection with your matter.
4. Secure document management through Clio, our legal case management software, allowing your file to be organized and shared with a legal professional of your choice upon your request, without requiring you to submit the same documentation again, where the system and applicable permissions allow.
Our goal is to help you maintain an organized, accessible file so you can manage your matter more efficiently as a self-represented litigant. If you choose to retain counsel from a lawyer or other professional, we will share your file with your consent.
Intake fee: $299.00 per matter.
Please note: The intake service is intended to support the organization and management of your legal matter. Unless separately agreed upon, it does not include ongoing legal representation, legal advice, or court appearances.
All information received from a client is strictly confidential. Our firm takes every step possible to protect your privacy. The data submitted via this form is encrypted and secured using industry-standard 256-bit SSL encryption.
Your Social Insurance Number and other personal information will only be used in the event that you consent to allowing our firm to share the information and documents collected during intake with a legal professional of your choice, should you eventually retain one, and only when necessary in limited use during the course of your case with your direction only. This service is to support Self Represented Litigants in collecting, organizing, and sharing information on consent from you, our intake client using Clio systems to keep things secure.
Social Insurance Numbers are most often used to positively identify parties. Most courts require Social Insurance Numbers of all parties in a case. Some other examples of how this information may be used include:
- initial service
- in court orders
- in required reports or other documents filed with the Province
